Cauliflower Rice ...yum....

Hello to all!

I would love to embark on a ketogenic diet. It is not a diet per se but it is optimally nourishing your body , enhance detox and keep illness at bay. But Iam breast feeding my child so I need a lot of fuel to burn. This is my attempt to keep the grains at bay at dinner times. I find my family specially my seven year old loves the healthy version of restaurant  food made with fresh ingredients.

I eat it at dinner. This is how and why you must try it;

  • It is super easy to prepare and yummy.
  • It super nourishes your body while promoting weight loss.
  • Do you know your body detox itself every night ? Well here is the booster cauliflower will help activate detox enzymes!
  • It is great for your heart and brain

Cauliflower rice goes with anything even traditional Sri Lankan curries! I made it for dinner last night with sautéed vegetables . I heard the noise of the forks and spoons scraping against the plates ;-)

Ingredients

Head of cauliflower
Soaked Rice
Broth (vegetable , meat , chicken or fish) optional

Method

Wash the cauliflower head in running water. Chop or grind  in to a rice like consistency. Steam it in the steamer for 10 minutes. If you are new to the taste of cauliflower you can cook your rice and add the cauliflower in the last five minutes and mix with rice and cook together. The deal is to substitute rice with cauliflower until you get used to it or if you don't like to give up rice.

A breakfast fit for a king!!

It’s half term break here in Dubai. Kids are at home and they have a busy schedule than the moms. They got loads of homework and lots of play time on their hands. Those who are yet to go to school have lot of exploring , playing and they need to grow up very fast and healthy! I have the combination at home and I am really blessed for these two cute gifts from life!  We get stuck when it comes to healthy breakfast for kids . The popular choices are pancakes, cereal and bread toast with a fruit juice on the side. As the sail upstream lady I cannot settle for any of that. In fact I have none of that in my home unless if there is a long pending special request. Here is one of my very successful inventions approved by toddler and school kid for breakfast!  Avocado Mousse  Ingredients : Half an avocado (School kid) handful of Pecans soaked for 12 hours Half a ripe banana  Two dates Chia seeds Freshly made coconut Milk Method: ...

A day in the life of a VERY pregnant , health coach , full time working mother!

Hello there my beloved readers…Its been a while I blogged. I thought I need to blog again because  lots of my coaching clients wants to know what to eat and how to find time to exercise and move and so much more. I want to lead by example and for the benefit of my clients and my readers I will write a blog about my DAY. I have 24 hours just like everyone else and I juggle work, home duties, a toddler , a super busy eight year old and my coaching clients.  Today is a blessed day not just because it is Eid and the beginning of long weekend for us Dubai dwellers. But the much awaited opening of the swimming pool has happened. Ok we were planning to go to pool by 6 in the morning but we overslept!!! I dragged myself out of the bed because JJ woke up suddenly screaming “we are late to go to the pool"!!!! OK, now everyone is fully awake with that shrieking even Linuk. I drank my 500ml water and finished my bathroom duties and start ordering everyone around. I ate a slice o...

COVID 19 Shopping. Ultimate guide to stay home, low budget , finger licking Nutrition

It’s been a very long time since I had blogged. I kind of got busy with other things, a lot of other things, In fact, I thought of giving up blogging altogether. Anyhow I realized that writing is my comfort zone and I communicate well when I write my thoughts out loud. So I am back hoping to do something great with my god-given skill! I have news! I am a full-time French student and I found that I can write in French a bit better than I can speak or understand French! It just confirms that writing is my comfort zone in communication. I guess one needs to understand one's comfort zones, strengths and weaknesses. It is a great point to start becoming a better you personally and professionally. However, blogging is not just writing your thoughts out but organizing your writing in a meaningful way and presenting them to your target audience and then your ability to hold their attention. Then comes all the tech stuff such as SEO etc. I can never get my head around mastering (no...
